Wesley Chu
Piano, Composition
Wesley Chu is the creator of Zenkora, and serves as the universe’s Artistic Director and lead writer. He has created and produced countless fantasy narratives and arts events, and is focused on bringing Zenkora to a wider audience and involving as many genres and artists as possible.
Wesley is also a pianist and composer of international stature, having performed for audiences on 6 continents. He has performed solo for dignitaries such as Queen Elizabeth II, Nelson Mandela and the late Pope John Paul II. Wesley's interests are in teaching and performing, and exploring every idiom of art that can be put in service of Zenkora since its inception in the early millennium.
TRAINING:
Wesley began piano studies at the age of three. At age five, had completed grades 1 to 10 of the RCM Examinations, and at ten, had completed his ARCT, setting a record as the youngest pianist to ever do so. Wesley has studied with various teachers and at various schools; he attained his Bachelor's and Master's degrees at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, and holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in piano performance, with emphasis on composition, music theory, and arts leadership at the University of Southern California.
FAVOURITE ACTIVITIES:
Wesley has been a fan of all popular media since childhood, including but not limited to animation, videogames, films, artwork, theatre, and of course, music. He is also an amateur yet highly passionate aficionado of cheese.
INTERESTING TRIVIA:
Wesley is the co-founding member of the Super Piano Brothers, musical collective specializing in self-arranged and composed works inspired by videogames, films, and other forms of popular media.
